Summer Program: 10/12/14u

10u/12u/14u Information:

Stillwater Fastpitch was established in 1984 to promote the development of a quality, competitive level of girls fastpitch softball in the St.Croix Valley Area. This program is committed to the development of potential Stillwater Area High School Softball players.

Age level is determined by birth year. See the age eligibility chart

NEW this year for our Summer Travel Program: For the upcoming 2027 season, SAFA will offer year-round travel programs at the 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U levels. An inhouse 8U league will also be offered for our new players (See 8U Program page).

Teams will be formed in the fall after evaluations on August 29 and 30. 10U-14U teams will train together beginning in November.

Note: Fall Ball teams are formed without evaluations and considered a separate season with separate registration. Fall Ball season begins in August and runs through the end of September.

Why the New Full-Year Model?

This new structure allows players and coaches to:

  • Build stronger team continuity throughout the year.
  • Be better prepared for evaluations closer to the summer and fall seasons.
  • Participate in winter development opportunities and increase training time before the spring season.
  • Improve tournament planning and scheduling as early as December and January.
  • Enhance overall player development and team experience.

Commitment

You will be expected to attend all scheduled practices and games during the regular season (April-July). You will be expected to attend winter practices that do not conflict with a winter sport that you may be playing. Participation with Family, School, and Religious commitments take priority and can be worked out with your coach.

The commitment from players in the off season is dependent upon availability with any conflicting sports. We encourage our girls to participate in multiple sports/athletics. We do not encourage specialization of a sport. We believe in developing well-rounded athletes. Off-season practices will be flexible as best as possible. We will have multiple opportunities for players to get in their practice time outside of their seasonal sports schedule.
